Amazing...

My new (stray) cat had kittens today. I was a little miffed. I had off all day yesterday and was home and she decided she was going to have them today while I was at work. No biggie though. She ended up having 6 all together. Four of them are orange like her. One is a fawn color and the other turned out to be calico. Really cool. They're all so cute and cuddly. Now I get to have 10 cats in my house for the next 2 months. Luckily I already have 4 of the kittens "claimed" so I only need to find homes for 2 more.

On another note, I work at a vet clinic (way cool). I've been there for almost 3yrs. We handle about 6 K9s from the county sheriffs department. One is in pretty bad condition. He has a condition in his throat that is similar to our form of asthma. Well, I guess he was practicing on Tuesday (he's a drug dog) and ended up having an "attack". The officer (who's rather cute by the way) called and said he was "in route" to the clinic with "Marko". Not more than about 15-20 minutes later I hear sirens. I look out the window of the clinic and see a sheriff SUV fly by and whip a Uturn (while burning rubber) and fly right into the parking lot (once again burning rubber in the lot). He stops his truck right at the doors and gets out even before it's come to a complete stop. Runs around the truck, flings open the back door, grabs "Marko" and runs inside. He left his doors open and the truck running while he was inside with the dog. "Marko" turned out to be okay once when put him under anesthetic and let him calm down. It kind of just blew me away to see a sheriff's car with sirens and lights flying by when all it was about was a dog. Don't get me wrong. I love animals (as I said I currently have 10 cats - because 6 are kittens not even 12hrs old - 1 dog and 2 birds), but is it right for a sheriff (or any cop) to be able to use his "emergency equipment" for something other than it's intentions?

Think about that for awhile!
