This is what happened to me today. I think it looks worse than the pictures make it, but that's just me. Anyways, I was leaving McDonald's heading back to work. This girl coming out of Taco Bell decided to floor it to get to the median. She didn't see me since her view was blocked by city worker's truck Turning into Taco Bell. She hit pretty hard too. Her entire front end is totaled. No front bumper or radiator and the hood is pretty much folded in half. Luckily all that's wrong with mine is a couple of doors. The main part that sucks is the side passenger door is a power door, so that no longer works. Physically, I'm ok. Slammed my left shoulder (which is already my bad shoulder since I had surgery on it in March 2004) into the driver's door (I was driving and was the only one in the car). According to the doctor, it's just muscle strain, so I'm grateful for that. I'm also grateful that I didn't have my kids in the car either. If I would've, I don't know what would've happened. My son would've been the one hit since he sits on that side of the van. Now all I have to do is come up with the deductible (if I don't want to wait for her insurance policy to cover it) and I can get my van fixed. On the other hand, I could just continue to tarp that side of the van over every time it might rain. Sounds like fun. I now have a van sitting in the driveway with a blue tarp down one side so that the rain doesn't come into the van.

At least I'm ok and it's just damage to the vehicle. It could be a lot worse (like her car for instance). At the same time, since this accident has happened, my ex seems to be acting a lot nicer towards me. Maybe something snapped inside. Don't know, but it's kinda nice to actually talk to him without getting into a fight all the time. I've been able to call him up about anything and he'll just talk. No yelling or screaming. Just calm and collect. I like it this way. At least it's less stressful. Will it stay this way? I hope so!!!

A friend is a person that knows all about you but likes you anyway.

True wealth is what you are, not what you have.

Do you always want to be right or do you want to be happy?

When examining your marriage, use a telescope - only look through the wrong end.

I love your laughter and I love how you make me laugh.

The surest way to make yourself happy is to make someone else happy.

If you're doing your best, you won't have any time to worry about failure.

(from the book: P.S. I Love You)
