Well, Christmas is almost here. I thought it was going to royally suck, but my spirits were put higher last night. I only had $150 in gift cards to spend and I was torn as to how to spend them. The gift cards were given to me through work (when people by Heartgard & Frontline for their little 4 legged animals, we get $1 for every rebate sent in. This year it came out to a little over $150). My BF and I hit the big JCPenny sale last night and I made out great. I was able to get my kids some PJs, the VTech VSmile system, an additional game, a necklace and bracelet for my daughter and still have enough to get my guy a gold chain, jeans and a belt and still have some left over. I guess it helps to have a BF that works for JCPenny and can get you here associate discount. For the longest time I didn't think there was going to be much of a Christmas since I'm so short on $$$ with the divorce and all, but things really worked out a lot better then I expected. I haven't really spent any money on Christmas other than about $60 and my kids are getting so many really cool things.

I got sorta screwed by Toys 'R Us though. I was given two $25 gift cards and went to use them online. I ordered an additional game for the VSmile, Chutes N Ladders, and a LeapPad book. I processed the order all the way through including entering the gift cards as the form of payment. My balance was $57.10 which meant I had to pay $7.10. When I went to look at the order this morning, it turns out that my gift cards didn't apply. I called up Toys 'R Us to find out why. Supposedly when you order items through the internet, it's not necessarily coming from Toys 'R Us. Two of my items were coming from Imaginarium which meant that I couldn't use the gift cards since they were strickly for Toys 'R Us. So, I ended up having to pay for the whole order. Luckily, the representative decided to credit me the shipping because of the confusion. So, since I still had $50 to use at Toys 'R Us, by BF and I went there today and I was able to pick up a remote control car for Z and a Barbie Laptop for G. I think the kids will be happy with everything they are getting.

My recommendation to everyone:

If you plan on ordering from Toys 'R Us you need to be careful because it may not be coming directly from the store. They don't really warn you on the website either. It just switches to a different company with no warning and they make the websites look so similar that you think you're still at Toys 'R Us.

BE CAREFUL AND WATCH CLOSELY!!!!!
